The Refugee Women’s Health Clinic (RWHC) has two convenient locations in Maricopa County to support the growing refugee community throughout the Phoenix area. Obstetrical and gynecological services are provided at both locations, and Cultural Health Navigator services are available at both locations as well.

The Refugee Women’s Health Clinic has staff that are both multilingual and multicultural. They offer live in-person interpretation services in 12 languages to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings whenever appropriate. Offered languages include: Arabic, Burmese, Chin, French, Hindi, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Kiswahili, Maay-Maay, Nepali, Oromo, and Somali. Each patient room is set up to provide telephone interpretations for any additional languages as needed.
All Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) medical staff are provided with cultural sensitivity training, and RWHC support staff are hired from within the refugee community. Trust is built by engaging and partnering with refugee communities throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Counseling as well as surgical modifications for women with female genital cutting (FGC) is provided as requested.
