Empowering Women

Our community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach and patient education classes improve women’s health literacy and get them steps closer to self-sufficiency. Educational topics include prenatal care, labor and delivery processes, postpartum care of mother, newborn care, breastfeeding, car seat safety measures, family planning and discharge planning. 

  • From its inception into 2008 up to the end of 2014, the RWHC has provided nearly 7,000 patient visits 
  • More than 700 babies have been delivered
  • Increased patients’ trust and continuity of care including those as far away as Buckeye, Avondale, Laveen and Surprise
